  1. Dear Sir,
My name is Jeet. I am B.com and Law graduate from Mumbai University and have 14 years of experience in corporate litigation and Non-Litigation. Presently, I am working as a manager Legal in a real estate organization.

    In the corporate Legal department,
    A) an employee, having knowledge of litigation with 10 years or more experience, get the designation of Sr. manager Legal or above with an annual salary package of Rs. 12 to 16 lakhs depending upon the size of organisation.
    B) an employee, having knowledge of Non-litigation or contract drafting with 10 years or more experience, get the designation of Sr. manager Legal or above with an annual salary package of Rs. 12 to 16 lakhs depending upon the size of organisation.
    C) an employee, having knowledge of both i.e. litigation as well as Non-litigation and contract drafting with 10 years or more experience, get the designation of GM/AVP Legal or above with an annual salary package of Rs. 25 to 35 lakhs depending upon the size of organisation.

In my case, the inception of my career, I have given importance to learning/skills rather than designation and/or annual salary package. As result, on one hand, I got good exposure and experience in both i.e. litigation as well as Non-litigation, and contract drafting and on other hands my annual package remains very poor i.e. upto 10 lakhs. In my 14 years of career, I have worked for more than 5 years for each organization which indicates that I am not a frequent job changer.

Now after 14 of experience, I want to change my current organization and go for a higher level but every time at the interview, I have been offered only a 20% hike from my present salary. Employer/s are not ready to give me a higher salary and only offer a 20% hike from my present salary despite of 14 of experience and knowledge of litigation and non-litigation. At the last round of each interview, repeatedly I have been told only a 20% hike from my present salary.

Please advise me on how to come out of this situation.
