Checklist To Condense Any Resume Into 2 Pages

In today’s dynamic environment the recruiters do not have the time to go through resumes which are long. Worldwide research has proven that a recruiter does not spend more than 6 seconds in reading a resume before deciding whether to read it further or not. So you need to have a crisp resume of a maximum of 2 pages. This CHECKLIST will help you do exactly that.
- Have you elaborated your work experience even beyond the past 10 years?
- In the tenure section, have you written the name of the organisation, your designation and period in one single line?
- Have you focused more on your achievements rather than responsibilities?
- Have you mentioned your achievements in shorter sentences and used bullet points?
- Have you used bullet points in the core skills section and presented them in a horizontal format rather than vertical?
- Have you eliminated content that is not relevant to the job you are applying for?
- Have you broken up the resume into important sections like short description, professional summary, core skills, rewards and recognition, tenures with achievements, educational qualification, personal details
- Have you left a lot of white space throughout your resume?
- Have you avoided repetitive vocabulary and content?
- In the education section, have you mentioned the year when you graduated? Unless you are a fresher, the year of completion of basic education is not required.
- Have you tried to reduce a sentence that does not mention or reflect a skill, achievement, reward and such important aspects?
- Have you ensured that your personal details does not include your postal address? (Only location is enough).
- Does it have a clear HEADLINE at the top with your mob number and email id on both sides each?
- Is the font size and type which is user friendly and at the same time fits into the format you are using?
- Is the formatting user friendly and space friendly?
- Have you tried reducing the margins on both sides of your resume?
