Satisfaction. It comes in varied forms, shapes and ways. It, perhaps, is the basis of fulfilment for life, for years, for months, for days or for those momentary moments alone.
When Sachin Tendulkar thanked the 40-odd thousand at the Wankhede for their unconditional support after he had called time on his glorious career two years ago, it was a satisfied Sachin Tendulkar who did so. When those 40-odd thousand responded with the deafening 'Sachin-Sachin' chant, they were all satisfied too. They had had the honour to watch the legend play one final time, to watch him mesmerise them for over two decades.
Such was the contentment all around at the Wankhede on that day, you could not escape the chill of the goosebumps. Such is the power of being happy with what you do. It was cricket for Tendulkar, watching Tendulkar play for those fans and the opportunity to write on it all for me then.
Our daily work is a major part of our lives. If all the puzzle pieces fell where they are meant to, imagine the joy that could engulf us. After a fun and young but evolving career as a sport journalist, I will now strive, with the most humane team at Aspiration, to bring you a job you enjoy. In the meanwhile, we will hope it will bring the employer the perfect match in return as well.
My efforts, I hope, remain laced with the openness to learn. Because such has been the path of my course, my early initiation into the working world has been about constant growth. Mumbai Mirror happened when I was in junior college. Soon, I was fortunate to be live on national television - Neo Sports. While pursuing my graduation, I authored a book. I did not write it to mint money or embrace stardom, but because I enjoyed writing on cricket. What I did embrace, though, was learning.
And the learning continued as my memorable Hindustan Times stint happened. I reported on corrupt practices, helped athletes receive their stalled remunerations, broke regular sport stores and was one of the youngest to go on international tours - those of Bangladesh and Australia.
Enjoyment and the opportunity to help others remained constant right throughout. Those are factors, I believe, will remain constant as I now look to bring in that dash of fun to your work!
I have been entrusted with the responsibility to take Aspiration to the next level of expansion and growth. To start with, am focusing on editorial and senior management level placements. Additionally am overseeing LinkedIn Profile Branding service.
